The Seeing Eye Dogs
So if you happen to be blind, or you have a friend who has been suffering from that condition, you may want to get and own a guide dog. Well, finding the right guide dog can be easy these days with lots of guide dog organizations operating out there to give you the best breed possible. Of these organizations, one name stands out as the best - the Seeing Eye, Incorporated. The Seeing Eye, as it is commonly known, is basically considered as the first guide dog school that conquers the United States. It is housed in a large and wonderful campus where blind students study and learn how to work and live like normal human beings with the help of their guide dogs. These students do not only practice the training inside the campus but also on the Morristown streets. So don't be surprised when you see a couple of students out there walking down the streets of Morristown, guided by their loyal friends, the Seeing Eye dogs. The Seeing Eye dogs are raised and trained from great breeds. The breeds are cared and treated by the school itself, in a place known as the Washington Valley Breeding Center. Most of The Seeing Eye dogs are German Shepherds, but there are also others that came from the breed of Black and Yellow Labrador Retrievers. Currently, The Seeing Eye is putting a new addition to its collection of Seeing Eye dogs, and this addition is none other than the Golden Retrievers. It is further interesting to know that the school is thinking of crossbreeding the Golden and Labrador Retrievers for a more exciting breed. The collection of Seeing Eye dogs is thought to increase by the following years, with the school itself currently facing major developments. Several reports have it that the school is planning to expand with more and more blind men and women considering their services and programs. They are now operating not just in the United States, but also in other areas in the world, particularly in Switzerland and Germany, where The Seeing Eye, Incorporated first saw the light. |
